20 TB HDD with OptiNAND technology

OptiNAND integrates iNAND®, an Embedded Flash Drive (EFD) on Universal Flash Storage (UFS) with traditional rotating media, introducing innovative changes to the algorithm and firmware system-on-a-chip (SoC). OptiNAND is not a hybrid technology. The unit works smarter thanks to optimized firmware algorithms that leverage expanded metadata downloaded to iNAND, enabling more tracks per inch (TPI), which results in higher areal density.

The DC HC560 Ultrastar, applying the capabilities of OptiNAND technology for the first time, offers an unrivaled capacity of 20TB on a 9-disk platform (2.2TB / disk) with CMR recording format.
